It's said that truth hurts, but nothing hurts quite as good as a healthy dose of truthiness from the man who coined the phrase: Messr. Stephen Colbert. And really, truthiness can't be contained by trifling things like national boundaries or large bodies of water, which is exactly why, starting tonight, Colbert will be crossing the Atlantic to kick off his first-ever USO tour: "Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando."
OIS: GC will be taking place at an undisclosed military base in Iraq, and all shows will be taped in front of an audience of troops, with appearances and shout-outs from Army officers, the deputy Prime Minister of Iraq, and other as-yet-unrevealed special guests.
Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando will air on Comedy Central in Colbert's usual timeslot at 11:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday this week. Proceeds from the sale of his series on iTunes that week will go to benefit the USO. Follow him on Twitter as he treks through Mesopotamia, and keep his sage words in your heart: "The USO counts as military service, right? I might want to run for office some day."
