The Flaming Lips Confirm Embryonic, Tour

The Flaming Lips have announced plans to release a brand-new double album later this year. As previously reported, the album will be titled Embryonic, and will be the group's first full studio set since 2006's Grammy Award-winning At War With the Mystics.

Embryonic will be Wayne Coyne and Co.'s 12th studio album and was recorded in their hometown of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Fredonia, N.Y., with longtime partner Dave Fridmann.

In addition, U.S. tour dates for summer 2009 have been confirmed. And if you need some extra incentive to see the Lips live (like we really needed that), for every ticket bought online, fans will get a digital EP with rare B-sides and three cuts from the upcoming Embryonic, including "Convinced of the Hex," "The Impulse" and "Silver Trembling Hangs." Also, each online ticket buyer will score a digital download of a bootlegged recording of the show they attend.
