Graphic Designer Melds Classic Novels, Albums

With his latest project, Cover Versions, graphic designer Littlepixel is reviving (and combining) classics from literature and music. The artist has used covers from 1960s Pelican books to redesign covers for albums such as Belle & Sebastian's Tigermilk and Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures.

The Pelican books, released under the Penguin publishers, were designed by Polish typographer Romek Marber. Although Littlepixel has found a modern application for Marber's work, he hasn't taken away the antique feel of the actual books, as each album sleeve appears to be creased and battered, just like a well-loved book.

Head over to Littlepixel's Flickr page to check out his entire collection.
