Zombie-Ridden Post-Apocalyptic Graphic Novel Gets Film Treatment

The Deadworld comics series has been packaged as a new film franchise to be penned by Watchmen writer David Hayter.

The series takes up a familiar concept (an apocalypse brought on by zombies), but cuts directly to the aftermath four months later, when very few humans are left. According to Variety, the protagonist in the films will be a guy called King Zombie, “a Harley-riding corpse” with a particular grudge against human survivors.

Producers of the project are openly pushing it as a series of several films, a somewhat aggressive pitch for a non-mainstream property.
