It's no secret that around Paste HQ we love our 30 Rock. A lot. So much so, in fact, that you might say we would rather enjoy taking it behind a middle school and getting it pregnant. Which explains our utter joy at the news that the critically acclaimed, criminally underwatched series is setting up shop at will get the syndication treatment on Comedy Central.
The comedy has netted scores of nominations and awards, yet remains low on the Nielsen ratings. Comedy Central's senior vice president David Bernath is hoping that the recent acquisition will change that. "30 Rock is one of the funniest shows on television and a perfect DNA match for our viewers," Bernath said. The network will begin airing the show's reruns in 2011.

This is syndication, or what? I'm a bit confused. Season Four starts on NBC on October 15th, 2009 (not that I have that on a calendar or anything, with daily reminders until that day..) and you say:
[Comedy Central] will begin airing the show in 2011 with five seasons.
which would imply that there is a commitment for a season five of new episodes (but could be interpreted as implying that Comedy Central has committed to producting five seasons of 30 Rock, which would seem...unbelievable.)
Nerts. My head hurts now, but I'm happy there's going to be new 30 Rock.
The NYTimes had a good write-up about this

Sorry for the confusion, folks. Indeed, it's syndication. Article updated. Thanks!
That's sweeeeet! Now I hope this will also mean that NBC.com or Comedy Central will stream more shows!!
