In 2007, the eight cartoon housemates comprising the cast of the animated "reality" series Drawn Together were all figuratively voted off the island when Cartoon Network decided to cancel the show. But like many reality-TV stars, the characters have been given another shot at love, er, fame.
Comedy Central announced yesterday that it's planning The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie. Writers and executive producers Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser have already begun production on the film, which is slated to be released in March 2010 through Comedy Central and Paramount Home Entertainment.
"'[It's] like marrying an
old ex-girlfriend," said Silverstein and Jeser in a statement. "I mean, are we doing
this because we love each other and are destined to be together? Or is
it because neither one of us could do any better? As is often the case,
it's probably both."
