Heartless Bastards Look Forward to Summer of Touring and Sweet Tea

Contrary to their namesake, the Heartless Bastards have plenty of love to share. Fresh off of their much-lauded third album and a string of high-profile appearances with Jenny Lewis, the Bastards will be continuing their cross-country summer jaunt with a raft of shows with The Decemberists and the Avett Brothers (not to mention a one-off with Andrew Bird) through the end of August.

Also in the works is the Bastards' side project with Alex Mass of pysch-rock outfit The Black Angels, a collaboration they like to call Sweet Tea. They'll be giving classic country tunes a unique twist, and have a limited-edition 7" due out Sept. 1 on Fat Possum. Take a listen to Sweet Tea's spaced-out rendition of Tim Hardin's "If I Were A Carpenter."
