Out of the many projects Zach Galifianakis has his hands on, the independent dark comedy Visioneers may be the one that has us most bursting with expectations, though we're not nearly as likely to combust as George Washington Winsterhammerman. Galifianakis' office-toiling character fears he will become a victim of the stress-induced explosions that plague the Jeffers Corporation. After premiering in June 2008 and subsequently making the festival rounds, the film is now offering fans the opportunity to host their own screening Which is to say, "Show Us Your Tunts!"
Signing up for a free screening kit automatically makes you eligible for the "American Tunts" contest, wherein one may earn tuntacular prizes for the Most Tuntified Screening simply by giving the good ol' Jeffers Salute (that would be the middle finger), documenting it and sending it in. This simple act could net you a free flight to New York or L.A. to a Visioneers event with Galifianakis himself present.Other categories include Best Reenactment from Visioneers (self-explanatory), Best Zach-a-Like (also self-explanatory) and Most Beard-ly Event ("Use your tuntly imagination!"). Winners from any of these categories can enjoy a Galifianakis-signed poster and an array of Jeffers Corp. merch.
To host a screening, all you need is a DVD player, a dark room, a projector and a sound system. If you'd rather be a guest than a host, you can check the Visioneers website for screenings near you. The screening initiative is part of a grassroots effort from B-side Entertainment, proving that truly independent films exist outside of cutesy, hand-lettered titles.
