Justin Timberlake is wearing all kinds of hats these days. He is supplementing his dirrrty pop designation with that of style icon, record label executive, and late-night comedian. And to top it off, this month will see the realization of yet another of JT's endeavors as he opens Mirimichi, his very own golf course. Known as Big Creek Golf & Country Club under its previous owners, this green was where Timberlake first learned to hit a ball as a kid in Memphis. Big Creek was slated to be turned into a housing development; instead, the singer bought the course and, with the help of his parents, will renovate and open it for public use on July 25.
In an interview last November, Timberlake told Golf Digest that the course's clubhouse will house the headquarters of Justin Timberlake Enterprises. The artist also hopes Mirimichi will host a chapter of The First Tee, an international initiative to promote character development in youth through the game of golf.
The July 25 opening follows Timberlake's participation last month in Golf Digest's US Open Challenge, where he played alongside Michael Jordan and Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger. He shot an 88.
