Monsters of Folk Announce Fall Charity Tour

July 27, 2009  |  8:20am
It's been a little more than a year since we first brought you news of the Monsters of Folk, the (probably) satirically-named supergroup of Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis, My Morning Jacket's Jim James, and M. Ward of She & Him/M. Ward fame. Now that their debut album is nearing release, the quartet will hit the road this fall for an international tour with a philanthropic bent.

The Monsters are partnering with the group Air Traffic Control for their first-ever tour. ATC is a vehicle for musicians to donate money from ticket sales to charities, and the band is aiming to do just that by donating $1 from every ticket sold on their tour to local non-profits.

Pre-sale tickets for the North American shows will be available starting July 28, with public sales beginning July 31. Tickets for the U.K./E.U. shows go on sale July 27.
