Paul McCartney Enlists MGMT as Opening Act at Fenway Park

Forget retirement. Paul McCartney is feeling rough, he's feeling raw; he's in the prime of his life. The former Beatle is on tour and creating a buzz with talk of an epic collaboration. He also recently told British blogger Zoe Griffin that he'd be cool with pairing up with synth-rockers MGMT for a little something.

"We need to talk about it," McCartney said. "I can't call them. If they called me, I'd say, 'How did you get my number?' But I'd do it."

So, it might be a little early to mark the release of the McCartney-MGMT collaboration on your calendar. But go ahead and circle Aug. 5 and 6, the dates MGMT will be opening for McCartney in Boston's Fenway Park, and cross your fingers that MGMT gets up the nerve to ask Sir Paul for for his number.
