Pavement's Scott Kannberg Releases Solo LP as Spiral Stairs

Here's a little news to brighten the corners of your day: ex-Pavement member Scott Kannberg plans to release a solo album. Kannberg, who contributed lo-fi guitar and vocals the veteran indie-rock band, has gone by Spiral Stairs for years now, since he recorded albums with the band Preston School of Industry. This October, however, he'll finally release his first truly solo LP under the moniker, titled The Real Feel.

Looks like Kevin Drew found some downtime while putting together the new Broken Social Scene album, because he, along with members of the Posies and Preston School of Industry, will collaborate on Kannberg's new release. Sorry, no Malkmus and friends.
