Rifftrax Crew Preps for Live Nationwide Showing of Plan 9 Parody

Remember Mystery Science Theatre 3000? Along with head writer Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy (Servo) and Bill Corbett (Crow) parlayed their unique brand of commentary into Rifftrax after their show concluded. Rifftrax continues that grand tradition by offering downloadable "DVD commentaries" to be synced up with their respective films, a la Dark Side of Oz:

To wit: the Rifftrax crew will soon put on the first-ever live nationwide broadcast of their commentary tracks, on movie screens nationwide. And they couldn't have picked a better movie to give their mocking treatment: the color version of the legendarily awful 1959 cult classic Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Nelson, Murphy and Corbett will hold the event on Aug. 20 at the (sold-out) Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tenn., simultaneously broadcasting never-before-seen material to 435 other theaters coast-to-coast. Check out their website to find a theater near you.
