Road Trippin' With Ice Cream Man Video Series Hits the Web

One of the highlights for the Paste gang at Athens Ga.'s annual Athfest last weekend was catching up with Matt Allen, the visionary behind Ice Cream Man, who we just featured in our Summer Festival Guide. This philanthropist of summer treats takes his truck across the country each summer and hits up the major music festivals, bringing free ice cream to the masses. This summer, a team of filmmakers led by Phil Difiore and Wayne Price are on the road with Allen to document his journey in weekly webisodes.

Road Trippin' with Ice Cream Man captures performances by festival artists as they sit sung atop freezers in the back of the ice cream truck, perched on it's bumper, or in the grass with the cheery vehicle as their backdrop. The artists play a song and cool off with Screwballs, Bomb Pops and ice cream sandwiches.

The Ice Cream Man kicked off this new online video series with scenes from Bonnaroo last Monday, and so far three episodes have hit the web. Week one featured sets with White Rabbits, Chairlift and MGMT. Week two's episode features Elvis Perkins, Jesse Harris & Mauro Refosco, and Delta Spirit. New episodes will be released every Monday.
