Ryan Gosling's Band to Release Album Via Anti- in October

Apparently, actor Ryan Gosling has a talent besides being heartthrobby and making pre-teen girls cry in The Notebook: music. Gosling bonded with lesser-known actor friend Zach Shields over their love of ghosts, and the duo formed Dead Man's Bones, a self-proclaimed "gothic/gospel/showtunes" band.

The guys first caught the eye of Tim Anderson, who produced the record. Then, Gosling and Shields attracted Anti-, which will release the band's self-titled debut album on Oct. 6, a slight change from the original plan to title the record Never Let a Lack of Talent Get You Down and release it on their own label, Werewolf Heart. Dead Man's Bones will feature the vocal stylings of the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir. Those innocent little voices add quite a creepy effect to the tracks we've heard so far.

But don't take our word for it: Surf on over to their MySpace page to hear "In the Room Where You Sleep" and "Name in Stone" for yourself.
