Saw-Inspired Attraction Headed to Universal Studios

Everyone’s favorite masochist pastime, the Saw movies, will now become an attraction at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights.

The series will join A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th as parts of the event, in a countercurrent to the recent trend of creating movies from amusement-park attractions. Regardless, as with most partnerships in Hollywood, the deal is designed on the creative end to sell tickets for future Saw movies. (Saw VI opens Oct. 23.)

The new attraction will incorporate the franchise’s characters and “traps” into an elongated maze for patrons, similar to another attraction Lionsgate created last year.
