Zach Galifianakis Joins Paul Rudd and Steve Carell for Dinner

Zach Galifianakis Joins Paul Rudd and Steve Carell for Dinner

Paste favorite Zach Galifianakis recently signed on to be a part of Jay Roach's latest film, Dinner for Schmucks (due out in July of 2010).

The film, which is currently in pre-production, also stars Paul Rudd and Steve Carell. The all-comedian, all-star cast tells the story of a publisher who challenges his friends to bring the most pathetic guest to each of their weekly dinners. On this week, one of them shows up with a man so "schmucky" that he has the power to ruin the life of anyone who spends more than a few minutes with him. Galifianakis plays the manager of a mattress store who is dating Carell's ex-wife. The film is a re-make of Francis Veber's 1998 French farce, Le Dîner de Cons.

Galifianakis will also return to work with Todd Phillips, his Hangover director, in Phillips' latest film Due Date, now in pre-production and set to be released in November of 2010. That film is about a high-strung father-to-be forced to hitch a ride with a slacker on a road trip in order to get home for the birth of his first child.
