Blind Pilot and The Low Anthem Announce Fall Tour

Blind Pilot will kick off a nationwide tour with The Low Anthem this fall, fresh off the band's debut record, 3 Rounds and a Sound, which caught the eye of both television and radio stations across the country.

The tour begins in September in the band's home state of Oregon, and hopefully Blind Pilot will travel easier than its founding members, Israel Nebeker (vocals, guitar) and Ryan Dobrowski (drums), did on their 2007 West Coast bicycle tour. Just like it sounds, Nebeker and Debrowski pedaled from Vancouver to San Francisco on simple bicycles with instrument trailers in tow, all to save two green essentials: money and the environment.

The duo has since snowballed into a six-piece, now including an Oregonian cohort of Luke Ydstie (upright bass, backing vocals), Kati Claborn (banjo, dulcimer, backing vocals), Ian Krist (vibraphones) and Dave Jorgensen (keyboards, trumpet), in what would have made quite the cycling troupe.

The group is now on the down slope of their summer tour where they supported The Decemberists, Andrew Bird and British rock band Gomez. Look out for Blind Pilot at this year's Rocky Mountain Folk Festival in Lyons, Colo., Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco, Calif. and the Sisters Folk Festival in Sisters, Ore.
