Columbia Records announced today that Bob Dylan's Christmas compilation, Christmas In The Heart, will hit stores before Halloween even rolls around. The folk deity's 47th album is set for an Oct. 13 release, and will include the usual holiday ditties like "Here Comes Santa Claus," Winter Wonderland," Little Drummer Boy" and "Must Be Santa."
A handful of tracks for Christmas In The Heart were reportedly recorded at Jackson Browne's studio in Santa Monica, Calif. The album is a follow-up to Dylan's 2009 Together Through Life. It also adds to the tradition of Christmas albums recorded by Jewish artists, where he joins the likes of Neil Diamond and Phil Spector.
Christmas In The Heart will be released by Columbia Records, and all of its U.S. royalties will be donated to Feeding America and two other international charities sharing a similar mission.
