The Ryan Gosling/Zach Shields duo, Dead Man's Bones, will be dishing out the heebie-jeebies with a fall tour to promote its self-titled debut, set for an Oct. 6 release on Anti-. However, the tour isn't all about showcasing Gosling's eerie howls and Shields' throbbing percussion via ghastly anthems.
Perhaps to soften the impending shock that naturally accompanies a
tribute to the undead, before every concert the band will open the
floor to the city's local artistry by hosting a talent show. What
better way to make you smile before you shudder?
Since the upcoming album was recorded with help from the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir (which dominates the cover art like an awkward class photo), Dead Man's Bones will summon the vocal aid of various local choirs for each of their shows in order to maintain its iconic, chilling touch.
The duo prefers to think of itself as a "gothic, gospel, showtunes" band, claiming songs like "In The Room Where You Sleep," "My Bodies a Zombie For You" and "Flowers Grow Out of My Grave," all of which will be featured on Dead Man's Bones.
