Jemina Pearl Announces Release Date, Tour for Debut Solo Album <em>Break It Up</em>

Following the dissolution of garage rockers Be Your Own Pet, frontwoman and all-around Nashvillain Jemina Pearl struck out north for Brooklyn. As she settled into her new digs, she began working with producer John Agnello to record some tracks. The fruits of those sessions (which include a duet with Iggy Pop) blossomed into her forthcoming debut solo album Break It Up, now slated for an Oct. 6 release on Universal.

Naturally, there's gonna be a tour to promote this sucker. Pearl has joined forces with blog sweethearts Islands for a North American tour from mid-October to early November:
