Kanye West and Spike Jonze's Short Film Gets a Release Date

Kanye West and Spike Jonze's Short Film Gets a Release Date

The fruits of Kanye West and Spike Jonze's much-anticipated film collaboration will at last see daylight in a little less than a month. What was originally a music video quickly blossomed into a short film, now titled We Were Once A Fairytale.

The title is cribbed from a verse of Kanye's "See You In My Nightmares" from last year's 808s & Heartbreaks, which will also be the film's soundtrack. The 15-minute flick will reportedly see Mr. West stumbling drunkenly around a club, tripping out, canoodling with a pillow and tearing a demon out of his stomach. No word on where the song's featured artist, Lil Wayne, fits into the equation, but with a little luck, he'll be the demon who bursts from Kanye's stomach like something out of Alien.

Devotees will note that this is the first time the duo has collaborated since last year's "Flashing Lights" video, which was awesome, so the bar is pretty high for this one. We Were Once A Fairytale hits iTunes on Sep. 8.
