Lineup Highlights: Jane’s Addiction, Andrew Bird, Ben Folds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Depeche Mode, Kaiser Chiefs, Tool, Thievery Corporation, Passion Pit, Kings of Leon, TV on the Radio, Band of Horses
Lollapalooza has seen a lot of changes in the past 18 years: Since it was founded in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour (yeah, right) for his band, the mega fest has taken a six-year hiatus, chosen a permanent location and found itself a new set of organizers. Though the event has seen its fair share of ups and downs, it has remained a staple on the annual-music-festival circuit. This year, more than 120 acts—including old-school Lolla alumns Tool and a reunited Jane’s Addiction—will fill Grant Park for the three-day extravaganza, just off the lake, with Chicago’s epic skyline as a backdrop. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will fill in for the Beastie Boys as Adam Yauch recovers from cancer surgery.

Sure enough, Brittany. This was from our print issue, before it was announced the band wouldn't appear. It's fixed now—the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be filling that slot at the fest.
