U.S. Postal Service Celebrates Classic TV With New Stamps

August 14, 2009  |  1:45pm
While we're still waiting on something new from the Tamborello-Gibbard cross-country collaboration of same name, this week the United States Postal Service released its "Early TV Memories" stamp collection, celebrating classic moments from 20 of America's most beloved television shows.

Designed by Nevada visual artist Carl Herrman, these collectibles transport us to the time before a fragmented media, when just a few shows captivated the country and entertained a united audience. The Honeymooners, Howdy Doody, I Love Lucy, The Lone Ranger, The Tonight Show, Lassie, The Twilight Zone and The Ed Sullivan Show are but a few of the shows represented. The 44-cent first class stamps are available for purchase in sheets of 25.
