Last Chance to Pre-Order Imogen Heap's Ellipse

Last Chance to Pre-Order Imogen Heap's Ellipse

Today is is the final day to pre-order Imogen Heap's third album Ellipse, as it is slated for a U.S. release tomorrow.

Creating Ellipse had become a collaborative process between Heap and her fans. Through her Twitter, video blog and other social networking sites, Heap asked for contributions in the form of lyrics, cover artwork and even a new press biography. But the album still offers much of Heap's own perspective, which she refreshed through trips to Hawaii, Japan and Fiji. Time spent at home also offered moments of inspiration.

"It really occurred to me when I was in bed with a man, that I had suddenly stopped thinking about my record," she said in her video blog. "It was afterwards, that kind of lying together, just that lovely calm time at the end, and kinda in between, of just not really thinking about anything."

She captures that “moment of calm” in “Between Sheets,” a track that now exists in the middle of the album. There it acts as a momentary sigh with subtle strokes of a nail violin and wire brushes.

To pre-order Ellipse, or to hear it in its entirety, visit Heap's official website.
