Today is is the final day to pre-order Imogen Heap's third album Ellipse, as it is slated for a U.S. release tomorrow.
Creating Ellipse had become a collaborative process between Heap and her fans. Through her Twitter, video blog and other social networking sites, Heap asked for contributions in the form of lyrics, cover artwork and even a new press biography. But the album still offers much of Heap's own perspective, which she refreshed through trips to Hawaii, Japan and Fiji. Time spent at home also offered moments of inspiration.
She captures that “moment of calm” in “Between Sheets,” a track that now exists in the middle of the album. There it acts as a momentary sigh with subtle strokes of a nail violin and wire brushes.
To pre-order Ellipse, or to hear it in its entirety, visit Heap's official website.
