It's official. Radiohead has released a new song.
At first glance, the band's mysterious track, "These Are My Twisted
Words," looked to be the juicy leak of a forthcoming EP, but now such
intricate theories are quelled as the group finally fessed up to the
online release. The track appeared on the message board of the
Radiohead fansite, At Ease, on Aug. 12 with little information of its
origin. "It sure sounds like a Radiohead song," said Pitchfork, as most of the internet nodded in agreement.
"We've been writing for a while, and this was
one of the first we finished," said multi-instrumentalist Jonny
Greenwood on Radiohead's blog, Dead Air Space. "We're pretty proud of
it. There's other stuff in various states of completion, but this is
one we've been practicing, and which we'll probably play at this
summer's concerts. Hope you like it." "These Are My Twisted Words," is
available for free download at the band's online store, W.A.S.T.E., and
as a torrent at Mininova.
It remains to be seen what will be released next, but in the meantime, the Radiohead rumor mill will no doubt continue churning out fresh ideas. Just don't expect any proper full-length albums for a while.
