Although 1990s America had the Chicken Soup for the Soul series as solace, the 2000s have lacked such literary consumable comforts. Until now. We may soon have one Pancake serving as comfort food.
Known for his role as Dwight Schrute and, lately, his penchant for making up words like Raditude, Rainn Wilson is now working to become a published self-help guru, as he confirmed Tuesday through Twitter. The book, Soul Pancake, will be based off of Wilson's website of the same name and thus, should become another avenue for Wilson to "delamify talking about God and religion."
But while Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield relied on mail-in submissions to create the Chicken Soup books, Wilson has sparked forum discussions with music videos by the likes of Kaki King, Sigur Rós and Regina Spektor.
"Helping create the book is a dream come true," Wilson said in a
statement. "It will give the Soul Pancake team a chance to really dig
deep into Life's Big Questions and give the reader a fun, experiential
way to interact with the world of thought, feeling, art and the soul."
Soul Pancake will be released through Hyperion in fall 2010.
