Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio to Produce Brave New World Film

Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio have teamed up to produce a new film version of Brave New World, Aldous Huxley’s fearsome cautionary novel from 1932.

Risky Business posits that Scott and DiCaprio have rough plans to direct and star, respectively, but several people close to the proposed movie tell the blog it’s too early to tell. Scott and DiCaprio previously worked together on the spy thriller Body of Lies, a misfire when it opened last October.

Brave New World has never had major-wattage film treatment, though several television versions have been produced in the past. Scott, of course, directed Blade Runner in 1982, which went on to become one of the best-regarded dystopian movies to come out of Hollywood.
