Dan Savage Filming HBO Pilot Tomorrow in Los Angeles

Are you going to be in L.A. tomorrow (Aug. 27) Want to talk sex? You're in luck! Dan Savage, syndicated sex columnist of "Savage Love," will be taping his "non-airing presentation pilot" for HBO.

Buy tickets to be in the studio audience and you'll be present for Savage's particular brand of frank, funny, offbeat sex advice. If all goes well, HBO will air the pilot that Savage describes on his blog as an attempt to "bring a new kind of conversation to TV about sex." The show aims to use "sex as a filter" in discussing current events and cultural trends. Exclaims Savage: "[It's] basically my sex-advice column-- but on the teevee!"

A taste of what's to come? On a now-expired L.A. Craigslist post dated Aug. 14, Savage sent out a call to anyone who had used the CB6000, a male chastity device, to come on the show to talk about their experiences.

Savage's regular column runs nationwide in alternative dailies like Seattle's The Stranger, and The Village Voice. He has a podcast called "Savage Lovecast" and has written several books about sex and relationships. His book The Kid, about his adoption of a baby with his partner, is being adapted into a musical.
