Fans of Neil Patrick Harris who watched last night's Emmys witnessed two treats. First, the man himself was in rare form, carrying the ceremony with wit and aplomb ("Here's hoping Kanye West likes 30 Rock.") And secondly, the cast of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog staged a mini-reunion for a taped bit wherein NPH (as Dr. Horrible) declared the death of broadcast television.
"The future of home entertainment [dramatic pause] is the internet!" With the line of scrimmage set, Dr. Horrible's arch-nemesis Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion) showed up to put things aright: "Like the Ottoman Empire, the music industry and Zima, [TV is] here to stay."
And then everyone broke out into song:
