For iTunes' first attempt at releasing original films, they're off to a good start. Now on offer: a seven-minute short film by the actors from This is Spinal Tap, entitled Stonehenge: Tis a Magic Place.
In the film, Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls pay their first visit to the monument which they depicted 25 years ago onstage. According to the iTunes summary, they pilgrimage "as if drawn by some primal, magnetic force," to the mystical site where, as they once crooned, "the banshees dwell and they do live well."
Stonehenge: Tis a Magic Place, available exclusively on iTunes, is just one of the promotional materials on offer in honor of the 25th anniversary of the 1984 mockumentary. There will be a Blu-Ray version of the film, a new Tap album, and actors Christopher Guest, Michael McKeen and Harry Shearer are embarking on a concert tour.
Go ahead, turn it up to 11.
