Kevin Smith Pens Second Book, Shootin' The Sh*t: The Best Of Smodcast

As far as titles goes, it looks like Kevin Smith has already upped the ante of vulgarity for his second book, Shootin' The Sh*t: The Best Of Smodcast. Whether or not he returns with the same lewd hilarity ablaze is yet to be seen, but you can get a pretty good idea by judging this upcoming book by its cover. Go ahead. It's safe:

kevin_smith_shootin_shit.jpgSmith, best known for his filmmaking (Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Clerks, Dogma) and, to a lesser extent, his acting (Live Free or Die Hard), branched into the writing realm in 2007 with My Boring Ass Life: The Uncomfortably Candid Diary of Kevin Smith. It soon became a New York Times Bestseller, thereby, you might say denying the self-proclaimed title. His life is decidedly less than boring, and his sequel looks to further confirm this.

Shootin' The Sh*t is a collection of stories sprouting from his top-rated SModcast, a podcast led by Smith and close friend/producer Scott Mosier. Highlights include the horrifying tale of "Kevin vs. Steak Tartare," a recipe for bukkake eggs and reasons why Smith was once willing to let Alanis Morissette get mugged. Other guests include Walt Flanagan, Bryan Johnson, with contributions from Smith's wife, Jen, and daughter, Harley.

Expect to see Shootin The Sh*t on bookshelves Sept. 22.
