Bad Lieutenant, the musical project formed by members of New Order and Blur, has set a release date for its debut album, Never Cry Another Tear.
"There is some continuity to the music I've made in the past,"
guitarist and vocalist Bernard Sumner said in a statement. "But this is
very different -- because different people are playing on it. This is
just how I now want to make music -- it feels right to me and I hope at
least a few other people feel the same."Got news tips for Paste? E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The band's self-created
label, Triple Echo Records, will release the album exclusively through
Amazon on Oct. 13 before distributing it through other retail outlets
on Nov. 10. The studio release of the bands' first single, "Sink or Swim,"
is available as a free download through BadLieutenant.net.
