Ryan Adams may have ended his hiatus from his musical career, based on recent evidence spread all over Vimeo, Twitter and other myriad forms of online disclosure.
As Twenty-Four Bit reported this morning , with Adams' return comes the first official digital release from from his own record label, Pax-Am. “Lost and Found”/Go Ahead and Rain,” packaged under “Pax-Am Digital Single: No. 1,” will be a $1.49 download available for pre-order through new site Ryanada.ms.
Ryanada.ms had just replaced the singer/songwriter/columnist's blog, though it quickly became a major source of evidence of the record-label revival. Meanwhile, a video uploaded yesterday shows Adams and a friend watching a machine cut grooves into a record.
Collaborators had also scattered hints around the internet. “Looks like it's going to be a late night at the office relaunching @Ryanada_ms,” tweeted web developer Lee Martin, who helped Adams create his new site. Back in July, Martin had also uploaded Pax-Am album artwork onto his Twitpic account.
Adams had originally started
Pax-Am in 2004 as a way to release vinyl
versions of four-track home recordings. He had only three sets through Pax-Am before his hiatus: The
Rescue Blues and California EPs, in addition to "If I am a Stranger" single.
