It must be nice being Willie Nelson. Not only do you get the universal "Hey, look! It's Willie Nelson!"-type of attention, but you get full albums dedicated to you. It's like being the Queen of England, except the music is actually, you know, praiseworthy.
With this spring's To Willie, Phosphorescent laid down its tribute to the ponytailed outlaw. The album eventually caught the somehow-still-working ear of Nelson, and he invited the band to perform on his Sirius/XM radio show.
Fast forward a few months and Phosphorescent is taking its Willie show on the road. This October, the band will take on Farm Aid with heavyweights Wilco, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews.
A string of dates wraps on either side of Farm Aid, meaning Phosphorescent will be singing Nelson's praises all fall long, with new songs in tow as well.
