Regina Spektor to Score Broadway Musical

She may be used to depicting her own life's journey for music, but for now, Regina Spektor is set to tackle creating the soundtrack for another.

The New York singer-songwriter will work with lyricist Michael Korie and playwright Tina Landau to pen songs for the 2011-2012 production of Beauty. A Broadway adaptation of a one-act play, Beauty will also be an adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, to become "a contemporary and hauntingly provocative story of beauty lost and beauty found," Playbill reports.

Casting for the musical has yet to be announced, in addition to when Spektor would start working on its soundtrack, according to the New York Times. She plans to wrap up her U.S. tour on Nov. 12, before circulating Europe this winter.
