Hello garage rock lover. Do you live in the below area?

If so, not going to Scion Garage Fest, coming Oct. 17 to four Portland, Ore. venues, seems completely unconscionable.
First
off, the day is as free as a show in your neighbor's basement. And it
features a roster of bands that includes psych-rock pioneer Roky
Erickson, Atlanta rascals Black Lips, Memphis maven Jay Reatard,
Montreal energy-fest King Khan & BBQ Show, Detroit's legendary
Dirtbombs, Toronto's rehabilitated Deadly Snakes, Austin upstarts
Strange Boys—and
many more, of course. Actually, if these groups can come in from so far
and so wide, then maybe people outside the pentagon should think about
attending anyway.
RSVP, check out the full roster and get info on venues here. Leave your knives and chains at home. And bring your hats. Read up on the rest of the rules here. And seriously, Pacific Northwesterners, go.

I do, in fact, live precisely 300 miles NNW of San Francisco in a floating eco-habitat.
w00t! They're playing local!
