For all those who are still itching, and that's 24 years and counting of itches, to see Michael J. Fox dominate another high school basketball game as a werewolf, MTV is delivering the closest thing we'll see to a Teen Wolf remake. At least for a while.
The network revealed in January that th reinvention was in development. There isn't much to show for the project yet, but MTV says to expect a pilot episode in the near future, and that it will be flavored more like An American Werewolf in Paris rather than its original film.
"It has a fresh take and is very different from the original," said MTV Vice President Liz Gately in a statement. "It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element. They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques."
If this is true, then the series really wouldn't be pitching anything TV audiences haven't seen. Then again, any take is a fresh one for a movie that hasn't been touched since its 1987 sequel, Teen Wolf Too, starring a rather furry Jason Bateman.
