In a plausible bit of speculation sniffed out by The Playlist, director Danny Boyle appears poised to take on the harrowing tale of mountain climber Aron Ralston as his next film, possibly with Ryan Gosling in the lead role.
Ralston came into public view in 2003 after he severed his lower arm himself with a dull blade when a boulder crushed it while he was mountain climbing. He has since earned endorsement deals and plans to climb Mount Everest next year. Boyle won’t confirm the project because the details are not yet inked, but he hinted in a recent interview strongly enough to make it obvious. Gosling is rumored to be in talks for the role, which sounds about right. In any case, get ready for the most uncomfortable 15 minutes of a movie ever.Related links:

It's about time. These two were to work together on 28 Days Later before Boyle went with Cillian Murphy.
No wonder Gosling's been working on the guns extra hard lately. Not that I've been noticing or anything. For fuck's sake, I'm a dude. I'm totally not gay at all. Why do you ask?
