Laura Veirs Launches Second Fan-Video Contest

As she wraps up her U.S. tour with The Decemberists, Laura Veirs has begun calling out to fans in another way: a music-video contest.

Submissions must be based off of “I Can See Your Tracks,” a song featuring My Morning Jacket’s Jim James from Veirs’ upcoming album July Flame. The singer-songwriter supplies both the song and lyrics through her official website, and will reward first through third-place winners with a number of prizes: a hand-sewn thank you note, four backstage passes, and a complete back catalog signed by Veirs.

Veirs launched this year’s contest while inspired by the success of her first one in 2007, when she asked fans to create videos based off her last studio release, Saltbreakers.
