Michael Jackson Fans Attempt Another "Thriller" World Record

Just months after setting a record in Mexico City, Michael Jackson fans hope to break yet another world record inspired by the king of pop’s most famous group-dance routine.

Come this Saturday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. PST, fans from more than 300 locations worldwide hope to set the record for most people dancing simultaneously to Jackson’s “Thriller.” The Thrill the World effort is centralized around sports and entertainment district L.A. Live, whose Staples Center had housed Jackson’s public memorial service.

Back in September, more than 13,000 fans gathered in Mexico City to break a different record, that one for most people dancing simultaneously in one place. If this, Jackson’s music video or even the Dragon*Con attempts are not demonstrative enough, L.A. Live offers an instructional video and one last practice session on its district grounds the night before the attempt.
