Viva-Radio to Feature King Khan, Black Lips, Jay Reatard, More

If your idea of radio is non-stop Nickelback and Miley Cyrus surrounded by commercials for seedy-sounding lawyers, then this story might not be for you. Viva-Radio, an internet radio station out of Brooklyn, has been bringing the jams for three years now—most notably through its Me You series, which gives listeners a chance to hear live, in-studio performances by some of the finest names in underground rock ‘n’ roll.

Best of Me You, Volume 1, then, is a compilation of the show’s best live takes and interviews, all recorded between 2007 and 2009. The new comp features 57 tracks in all, with performances by Jay Reatard, King Khan, The Black Lips, Dandy Warhols, Times New Viking, The Fiery Furnaces, Andrew W.K., Deer Tick, Amazing Baby…pause for breath…Tilly and the Wall, The Homosexuals, Love as Laughter and more.

Not a bad way to spend $5, right?

In truth, the comp comes free with the purchase of either a Me + You t-shirt (snazzy!) or a 32-page fanzine, both of which are $5. Free music and moderately priced reading material? Yes, please.
