From June 30 to July 5, 2007, R.E.M. played a series of shows in Dublin’s Olympia Theater, which was then intended as a test-run for new material that would appear on their 2008 release, Accelerate, according to NPR.
These performances now make up the 39 tracks of the band’s forthcoming Live at the Olympia, a collection of rather unlikely and underplayed R.E.M. songs written in their early Athens, Ga. years. The live release comes out next Tuesday, Oct. 27.
But thanks to NPR, you can listen to the whole album now, right here.
