Phish has already had a pretty big year with the release of Joy, the band's first studio release in five years and eleventh altogether. But that's not all the band has up its collective sleeve in 2009. They've announced their fall tour dates, which will follow their Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 Festival 8 shows.
Festival 8 marks Phish's, you guessed it, eighth such outing, and the band's first to be hosted on the West Coast. Specifically, it will be held at Coachella's stomping grounds the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. They'll stick with their traditional Halloween set routine by donning costumes and performing the classic album of another band in its entirety.
Phish's first gig on Nov. 1 will be a "breakfast show," where attendees will be served coffee and doughnuts while waking up to the band performing their first ever full-length acoustic set.
