Win a Date with Edward James Olmos of Battlestar Galactica: The Plan
In honor of today’s Blu-Ray and Hi-Def DVD release of Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, UGO Entertainment is offering a chance to have “Dinner with the Admiral.”
Go to the contest site and answer 10 questions as part of the “Viper Pilot Application.” Entries will be judged based on entrants’ knowledge of the series, and the well-articulated, creative nature of their answers. Gamer site UGO will reward the winner a trip to Los Angeles to have dinner with Edward James Olmos (Admiral William Adama) himself.
Direct-to-video film Battlestar Galactica: The Plan comes out on Blu-Ray and DVD today (Oct. 27). Although the regular series of Battlestar Galactica had its finale last March, and prequel Caprica doesn’t begin its regular season on cable network SyFy until 2010, fans can tide themselves over with this new edition of the story. The DVD offers bonus features and the 90-minute uncut film, which attempt to begin to fill in the gaps left by what some fans felt was a vague conclusion to the saga.
Olmos (who also plays Commander William Adama) directs the film, and frequent Battlestar contributor Jane Espenson wrote the screenplay. Notably absent are Lucy Lawless as D’Anna Biers and Mary McDonnell as Pres. Laura Roslin. Battlestar blogs have surmised that The Plan will be broadcast on SyFy sometime in 2010, though an exact air date has not been officially announced.
