Who Frontman Roger Daltrey Hints at Upcoming Rock Band Game

According to singer Roger Daltrey, The Who could follow The Beatles and Queen in launching its own Rock Band game.

In response to a remark about The Beatles: Rock Band, Daltrey told Massachusetts newspaper The Republic that production for a Who-themed video game starts next year, and that “there is one planned.”

“Anything that gets non-musical people interested in music is wonderful,” Daltrey said, “In my opinion, music is our last true great freedom. They can burn our books, they can burn our paintings, but they can’t stop us singing and making music.”

On the other hand, a Rock Band spokesman seemed less certain of what’s to come. “We’re working closely with The Who on what’s next, but don’t have anything new to announce at this time,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

In the meantime, as Daltrey completes his first solo tour since 1985, fans could always satiate themselves by attempting to achieve Pinball Wizard status at one of his remaining shows.
