All Tomorrow's Parties announced today that Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening is curating its first festival of 2010.
The Groening-organized weekend, May 7-10, comes after The Flaming Lips created a weekend of weirdness this past September, featuring Animal Collective, Atlas Sound, The Jesus Lizard and Akron/Family.
Groening
has yet to announce a lineup, though ATP is surely
placing faith in him to create one as memorable as he did a few years
ago. In 2003, Groening brought Sonic Youth, The Stooges, Daniel
Johnston, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill and Deerhoof, amongst others to cruise ship The Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif.
Tickets for the festival set at U.K. family resort Butlins, go on sale 9 a.m. Friday. For more information, visit ATPFestival.com.
