We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief as arguably the most anticipated Office event has passed without any major snags or notes delivered down the center aisle. Jim and Pam's tying of the knot was a bit of a snafu, perfectly molded to the show's erratically gawky standard: Pam's torn veil, Jim's clipped tie and Kevin shuffling down the aisle with shoes fashioned from tissue boxes. The only tradition the show follows is the one it invents for itself, so it should have been no surprise the ceremony would let loose a "JK Wedding" reenactment, the perfect breakdown to dissolve the pent-up potential of a disastrous weekend.
Pam bore the heaviest burden in the episode, not just because she's spent most of her Scranton days, in one way or another, waiting to get married to someone. Any complication to the wedding could turn her into a basket case. Enter: Andy Bernard, who suffers an incredibly unfortunate groin puncturing after getting too carried away with his superb dance routine. Pam, being in the wrong place at the right time, was the only one sober enough to drive him to the hospital--the night before her wedding.
"Niagara" was brimming with daring hilarities like this, challenging viewers to laugh at some very untried extremes for all Office characters. It opened with a revolting mass vomiting scene and jolted us with Dwight's late night assignations with Pam's bridesmaid, and finally hacked into new territory with the aforementioned dance-off injury. The only given for the episode was Michael's bumbling toast/stand-up routine at the rehearsal dinner.
And despite these irregularities, Pam and Jim still found the time to get married at the foot of Niagara Falls, though it wasn't planned this way ("Plan C," as Jim admitted). The ceremony offered a double-sided celebration, outfitted with patches of romance and nonsensical wit, where Dunder-Mifflin co-workers were both the downfall and rescue to an iffy wedding day, and a great episode.

The Office is simply amazing. They pulled off Jim and Pam's wedding with cleverly blended humor and drama. I loved every part of the episode, even Andy's torn scrotum. Full review of the episode.

It doesn't occur as often as it used to, when Niagara Falls Weddings are celebrated and honeymoon destinations are featured in our town.
Thanks for promoting our amazing city!

Yeah, the beginning, when everyone in the office was vomiting? Now that is classy, highbrow humor.
