Watch the New Trailer for Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire

Lee Daniels' Precious is the critically acclaimed pet project of executive producers Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey. It is a personally significant film for both, providing a platform for Perry to open up about his experiences with an abusive father, and of course, Oprah long ago came forward about her childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a cousin. Indeed, this one's going to be a weeper.

It's no accident that the gritty, emotional movie that highlights the issues of abuse and poverty, and ultimately offers a ray of hope, will be released on Nov. 6, just in time for Oscar season. It has already won big at Sundance and the Toronto Film Fest. Still, this new trailer somehow doesn't look as devastatingly depressing as previous ones. However, it does include some awkward talking-head interviews with the film's celebrity producers!
