As far as most folks are concerned, the best-known rock act from New Zealand is Flight of the Conchords. But with that band’s penchant for folk comedy, it seems the Kiwis could use something a little more rowdy. Enter The Black Lips.
The Atlanta-based party-starters have announced that in 2010 they’ll head down under to both Australia and New Zealand for a string of festival and club dates. The tour kicks off in Brisbane on Jan. 29; most dates are a part of Australia’s multi-city Laneway Festival, which, in different cities, includes bands like Hockey, The XX, Wild Beasts and Florence and the Machine.
